…which Battleship had the false bow wave ?
Bismarck had a false bow wave. You didn’t specify which side.
LOL, Very true
let me narrow it down…Which Pearl Harbor December 1941 Battleship.
Oklahoma
Those were the only two. The cruiser Chester did as well, but she was returning from sea on December 7th and wasn’t actually at the harbor until the next day.
Hey ! Didn,t the PRINZ EUGEN have one for a time too ? tankerbuilder
The heavy cruiser USS NORTHHAMPTON had a wicked bow wake, port and starboard sides. OK it’s not a battleship…still it’s a neat paint job.
If you want to expand it out a bit; Colorado and Mississippi were ordered to paint the bow wave. I don’t have a photo of either in it, but pictures taken at the end of Colorado’s 1941 overhaul (December time frame) don’t show it (she’s in fresh paint from the later directives)
USS North Carolina also had a false bow wave.
Bill
So did the Graf Spee
As did the heavy cruiser USS Salt Lake City, which was quite unique as she was painted in the light gray Measure 3 at the time.
That was actually paint chipping and not a false bow wave.
