So just getting back into the hobby I have decided to buy 2 airbrushes. 1 for basic priming and coverage and the other for finer detail work. The detail brush will be an Iwata HP CS. Coming back to airbrushing after so many years I have forgotten quite a few things… Please help me make the best decisions possible. I plan on buying an Iwata Smart Jet Pro. Using 2 airbrushes I would like to use the quick disconnect connectors. Just not sure which connectors I actually need. Male and female? Hose type? Are braided hoses better? I thought I read that coiled minimize moisture… Thanks all for the help! Cant wait to get started!

You also need an AD9 male connector for your 2nd AB. You can get both at Chicagoairbrush or Amazon.
The quick connector works flawlessly. I use my SAR 80-90% of time. It’s an excellent AB for spraying base coats and not-so-complex camo patterns. I hardly use a paint jar with it, though. Badger or Paasche paint cups are compatible with the SAR and it’s so easy to use and clean the SAR when you use a paint cup.
In addition to what Chrisk-k advised, personally, I don’t think the make-up of the hose will make much difference for you - the Smart Jet has a moisture trap attached. I believe the SmartJet Pro comes with a nice Iwata braided hose so no worries.
