Opinions on Revell/Monogram 1:48 B-25J Mitchell?

I just bought this kit last night for $19.49. I’ve seen this kit at the same store before, but I didn’t buy it and it went out of stock for a couple of years. I know I probably could have found it cheaper online but I hate paying for shipping and I always worry about what it’ll look like when it arrives.

I looked at the parts and instructions and it seems to look pretty good on a surface inspection. Has anybody built this kit? Do the pieces fit well? Is it a fairly accurate recreation of a B-25?

I love WWII planes in general and I really can’t wait to start this kit. Any impressions or opinions on this kit would be greatly appreciated!

Now i´ll just say GO FOR IT![:D] i didnt use any putty on this one, is a very nice model[8D]

I built that kit over twenty years ago (when it was just Monogram), and I loved it. Easy to assemble, ample detail (nice interior), and just all around a nice kit. The only better B-25s out there in my opinion are the Accurate kits.

Wow-- those pics are awesome! I could only hope mine would look half as good! Thanks for the feedback.

This is a very nice kit, the only place you will need putty is around the engine to wing joint. Mine had some rather large gaps there. Other than that it is a great build. The interior detail is supprisingly good for a kit of its age, much like its brother B-17G and B-24J from Monogram.

It’s a good kit. I just built one,and have another waiting to go. It turns out into a pretty good model.

I also have the Monogram-Revell B-17 F in 1:48. Does this kit have acceptable detail, as well? I also need to find good pictures of the interiors of these planes to get an accurate color match. I have lots of books, but not many interior looks.
