Operation Silverplate

Leon.

Wow! That’s a sweet looking B-29. Well done. I assume that’s the Monogram 48 scale kit? I’m also doing a B-29, the Academy kit that I’m modifying into Bock’s Car. Thanks for sharing pics with us.

I see that you went for the meat, Dimples 8 - 2.

A fantastic build for you, I’ll bet it sure get praised at model meets. At any rate,

WOW !

Nice build of the B-29. Where do you keep it ? That is a big beast of a model.

Regards, Rick

Excellent work on the Superfort. Nice finish.

Really nice build. I would love to build the Monogram 1/48, but where would I put it?

Nice build! Is this the 1/48th scale?

Yah, it’s the 1/48 scale Monogram kit.
I built it around 1980, then it hung from the
ceiling in my dads shop for over 10 years,
(got REALLY dirty),and then was finally restored about 8 years ago.
Decals are aftermarket, and the finish is metallic silver w/ gloss clear
top coat. The turret delete is a PITA!!

I keep it on a shelf in my basement, along with 2 other '29s.
I’m currently restoring my very first one, that I built back in the 70’s.
This will be it’s 4th go around,( and hopefully it’s last)!

I also have a beat-up builder, Im restoring, that I bought off of
e-bay, and I just bought Monograms newest release, with
Hobby Lobbys 50% off coupon!

Hope to have a “flight line” shot of them all, in the future.

I am considering doing one of them as the “Kee Bird”
if I can get a complete understanding of her markings,
the day before she went down.

I really take alot of enjoyment in spending hours in reworking
the props, so they spin smooth, free, and straight.
Most all of my prop kits get, or have gotten this treatment.
Just the slightest breeze, and it’s, start engine time!

Thanks again, everyone,

Leon.

Looks great, Leon.
Thanks for sharing the pics.
