open top spg's/always topless?

hey gentlemen, anyone seen any photo’s of marder’s with canvas covers/or hoop detail.my searching has been for not.any links or book titles are much appreciated.thanks.the dark side lives in the far north!

They definitely had tops, which is what the two (always breaking off!) pole things are on the rear corners of the fighting compartment (they also served as width indicators)

MIG makes a good top for the Marder III M which looks pretty much like the real deal:

It’s secured by means of the row of attachment points across the front and sides of the armor, and to the two pole mounts in the rear. It’s open in the back.
