Opel Kapitan (early shots!)

Here’s another project I’m currently working on. It’s an Opel Kapitan, a 1938 civilan model purchased by the Wermacht and the Luftwaffe. Many more were impressed in the army after the start of the war.

This is a 1/76 pattern, the final kit to be released this September at the EuroMilitaire show in Folkestone, UK.

Here you can see the ‘basic’ plastic/perspex frame of the body, with a little Milliput to give thickness and some early curves…

Next I’ve added bits that will help me sculpting the fenders…

Here, the Milliput is starting to fill in the gaps. Several applications will be needed to achieve the difficult curves of the front grille and front fenders…

That’s just amazing to me, Deej!
I have a hard enough time putting the perfect pieces together that Tamiya so graciously makes for us!

You are truly creating a work of art here, no doubt about it.

And so teensy weensy!!

Excellent work.

Nice job DJ [:D]

I still can’t get over how small it is…I would need a microscope to build that!

WOW … too many little details for these fat fingers to work with.

Great stuff Domi … really nice to see.
