I’m not usually comfortable around you crazy wing nuts, I usually stay on the ground with my Treadhead pals, but I knew exaclty what you’re talking about so I had to post. My problem is, once I discover that new technique, next couple times I try it I go WAY overboard. You should ahve seen the first model I tried drybrushing on. Or my first wash. Oh god, don’t remind me.
The engine looks pretty good!(You did a good job adding plug wires and fuel lines to the kit’s engine.)Looks like I’ll have to make a trip to the local Wally-World and hope that the Corsair is in stock!
I’m having a good time with it- the kit is a great bargain and fun to build. I’ve picked up the Bf-109 and Macchi 202 also- need to get the Zero and Stuka!
Yeah I figured I should stop by and make sure everything is under control. God you wingies are too crazy for me [;)]. To tell you the truth I would probably get into ww2 aircraft if they came in 1/35…Im just a little B**** when it comes to staying in scale with my AFV’s. Okay, back on topic now, I promise.
It is a very nice job on that radial engine! Not to get to nit-picky and start counting plug wires, But I don’t think JWB added fuel lines to the engine.
Decals are on, panel lines are washed, and she’s waiting on final bits and parts and dull cote. I saw a pic of the real aircraft, and the prop was crazy weathered. Here’s my attempt at it-
Aircraft modeling-wise I think I would have to say my biggest feeling of accomplishment was applying a Euro 1 scheme to a 1/72nd A-10. I basically “shot from the hip”, so to speak and came away with a great looking model the exceeded my every expectation. I was also a victim of a “Modeling Happiness Moment” when I mastered the 2-tone grey scheme for the F-4G Wild Weasels a “E” Model F-4’s. With Phantoms being one of my favorite airframes, it meant alot to me to be able to capture the actual look in scale after trying so hard for so many years.
Of course I haven’t touched my airbrush in about 8 years now and have probably lost all the talent I had when it came to airbrushing so my work will probably once again look like crap if and when I get back to using my airbrush.
