One for the ship guys!

I don’t hang out in this area, so forgive me if this one has been posted before. A friend sent me this link and I thought I’d pass it along to you guys.

It’s a series of photos of what happens when a Mk. 48 ADCAP goes off underneath an old Australian DE hulk. Interesting photos [:0]

Very good of you to share the photos. Thanks!

This just goes to show that sometimes “close” does count! Right in there with horseshoes, hand grenades, and atom bombs!

Oh my! Instead of being burned to a crisp, you’d get pulverized to a pulp.

A Little J-B weld and no one will ever know, Hell we can sell it to the Italian or French navy, It already knows how to sink!

Just remember- There are two types of sea-going vessels: submarines and TARGETS!!! Dave MMC(SS), USN, Retired

The last photo speaks volumes for watertight bulkheads, aye? (not that it would do anyone much good who happened to be left on board, laying there with their eyeballs hanging out from the concussion!) <%-O

Nice series of photos, thanks! [:)]
