One for Shermanfreak...

I’m sure you will recognize this one, Robert… But for those who might not know (too) much about the Sherman, this is the T31 Demolition Tank…

Of course there’s not that much to see right now. The main thing about this vehicle was its armament: in particular, two 7.2in rocket launchers [B)] in the sides of the new turret (one, in its most basic form, is shown here).

I had been thinking of using Hasegawa’s M4A3E8 (which I had fond memories of) but I read it’s way overscale for a 1/72 kit… I eventually got the Fujimi kit (1/76) but I wish I had not bothered because nothing fits properly and some of the detail and molding are simply awful… If you are thinking about purchasing this kit, just do not bother!

Anyway, this is how things stand at the moment. I’ll be soon Milliputting it to get the curves on.

Hope you like it!

SWEET … you’re making me itch to drag out the plastic card and start scratchbuilding something Domi.

Hmmmm … like I don’t have enough projects on the go already.

Got any good line drawings of a BARV ???

Keep us posted on the progress please.

That is incredible! I never knew they diod anything like that with a Sherman.

I got one for Shermanfreak too, but it’s a bit more basic: It’s one of those over-scaled Hasegawa M48A3E8’s in Japanese GSDF Markings. It didn’t go together well either!

Here’s the pic:

Wow!! Please continue the progress pics!! Looks cool!!

Awesome sites Claymore. Don’t think I have a spare $650.00 for a rocket today.

Hey Dj, another one of your scratch-building projects? Even unfinished, it already looked good. And just to think of it…in 1/72 scale?

Keep 'em coming cause I like 'em a lot.

Derek, thanks for the links. That rocket is quite awesome!

Duke, looks like you did a decent job on that kit. As I remember it (20 odd years ago), the Hasegawa kit was a much better kit than the Fujimi one. It looked awesome, but of course I did not know then about the scale problem…

Robert, I’ll see if I can still find that book about the Funnies at the library near my workplace.

That’s pretty nutty, DJ! Looking forward to see what it becomes!

Appreciate the search Domi … thank you

its looks great and like a hammerhead sherman
i like the Mine Exploder T10 with Four big wheels instead of tracks
and the T15E1 Mine Resustant Vehicle with big thick tracks and sitting high off the ground

Great job on ain interesting variant. [8D]
