Omni 4000

ol’ fart probably went to bed Jeff!! you want an iwata airbrush anyway, hp-cs preferably (watch out Jeff, he’ll be here any minute now, his ears just perked up when i posted that)LOL. later.[:P]

That’s right I was in bed because some of us have to get up at 4:45 am for work. [:p]
I’ll post a picture of them later today when I get home. It is going to be another hot day. [V]

Hmmm I seemed to be the old fart who went to bed [zzz][zzz]. I imagine once my own work schedule gets back to norm I will have several airbrushes, thats why I am telling my wife now how each one has a purpose and i need lots of them to do lots of different things. But, I know my wife and she’ll figure it out like everything else and put the cubosh on it…hopefully after I get my Iwata and badger (or is it Badger and Iwata).

dont even go there!!! man, there will be post flying in from every direction, like the bullets flying on the omaha beach landing!! you’ll start something that you cant and nobody else can finish!![:o)][:D] later.

This is my thread, I started it, and it’s a Badger thread. Therefore, it will be “Badger and the I-word” [:D]

Alright, since you insist. [;)]

Mike

OK, I’m jealous. [:p]

uhhhhhhh…ahhhhhhh!!! my favorite one of the group is on the bottom right!![;)] hey, is that a preset deal on the 100? i thought i would use the home made preset handle on my iwata but i find it totally useless in model painting. nice array of brushes mike. the sotar looks so cheap looking though!! its seems they would kinda spruce it up like the rest of their brushes. anyway, it seems that you have some fun to be had so i’ll leave you be. later.

Do you mean in front of the trigger? Yes that is a preset.
I don’t really like them either as they are more suited to illustration work I think.

They did it all in black to look different I guess. It feels nice and the needle is real sharp and tapered so I can see why they spray so fine. The micrometer needle adjustment is pretty cool too in that it limits the rearward movement of the trigger to 1/1000" with each marking on the barrel.
This one has the white needle which is the medium version as that is more suitable for modeling. I can’t wait to try it out. Maybe I can get good enough to paint that 1/48 scale F-16 “Tiger Meet” tail freehanded? [(-D]

Mike

that would definetly be a feat brother!! you’d probably go blind in the process though!! all those stripes is enough to make anybody comfortable in a straight jacket!! i wish you lived near and i’d come over and play!! have fun brother. later.

OK, this one I gotta see! I haven’t seen the model, but most of the Tiger Meet planes have awesome paint jobs. That would truly be a feat.

Got It! My 4000 came in today. I ordered it Monday, got it on Thursday. I’ll argue with anyone who says Dixie Art’s service isn’t that great.

Now if my grass would just cut itself I could go downstairs and paint something [:)]

why do you need so many ?

He’s an airbrush junkie [:)]

So I can be familiar with them should someone on the forum be interested in one of them.

Mike

Awesome Scott! [tup]

Ket us know how you like it. Did you get some Badger Needle Juice or Medea Super Lube also?
It sure helps the action a lot.

Mike

It sure helps the action a lot.

I got my front grass cut (after 2 weeks! Long story) and played with the 4000 a little bit. Nothing fancy, just blew some paint on the missiles (that I painted with a rattle can Tuesday night and stripped last night). I can definitely tell that it starts easier and that will be a big plus spraying at low pressures. The balance is radically different from my 3000. I’m so accustomed to having a bottle hanging underneath that this took a little getting used to. The bottle tends to make the brush want to stay upright whereas the paint cup makes it want to roll over, so you actually have to hold the brush (the paint cup DOES go on the top, right [:)])

The only other thing I noticed, and I mentioned this in another thread, is that the paint cup blocks my light and leaves a shadow right where I’m spraying. Little things; I’ll get used to them. Being able to spray at lower pressure is a big plus so the minor things to get used to are no big deal.

I’ve had some Super Lube for a few months. Makes a world of difference.

Scott,

Sounds good. [:D] [;)]

Mike

I am ordering the 4000 one week from tomorrow (Friday the 17th). Thanks a million Mike. You guys know he rocks, in personal emails he had me set up in one day (I think) with the info and number to call. If you guys need something (non Iwata salty), use Mike he’s the way to go. On my budget Mike just came through huge for me and I will support him in his endeavors to help Badger in these forums…I still am buying an iwata after that and there’s nothing you can do about it [^]. The Badger 200 was my first airbrush (I think it was if that was in existance 15 years ago… single action with the needle controlled by a chuck at the end of the hanndle), but lost it in a move. Thanks for helping me get it back together Mike [tup].
