Olive doesn't have to be Drab !

Thanks Jurgen !

Glad you like it so far.

Its a shame your builds are only scale models. You put so much realism into them it looks like a crew could climb in, tap a few gauges, fire up the engines and take off.

Beautiful Work, I aspire to reach your standards.

Thanks Awood and Harrowbeer !

Awood - I’m searching for a metallic paint that smells like engines & fuel. [:p]

Thanks again !

Hey Pixi,
Great work I’ve been to you website a many a time and just drull everytime I’m in there I wish I had your time, but the 1:1 scale KC-135’s ( I stil preffer the A-10) keeps me busy as mush as you in 1/48 scale, I have a question for you what brand & model of airbrush do you use? and how mush air pressure are you running at?
because everyone of your kits look awsome and they are getting better each time out

Thanks cuda !

I use a Badger 150 airbrush, and mostly Model Master enamels. My pressure is low. I spray large areas not much more than an inch from the surface, using minimal paint flow. I try to cover only as much at a time as the spraygun painting the full-size aircraft would. It’s usually panel by panel. Fro this reason, my pressure is usually set at 9 psi. It’s probably more work than many would want to do, but I prefer the results.

Thanks again !

Stunning stuff pix ! You are a real widowmaker.[:)]

Looking good Bill.
I have two of these kits and have yet to build one yet.
That was one nice aircraft.

Mike

thanks again fellow Baystater. that’s a beautiful plane. don’t forget to also find a paint for the gun areas with the heady stink of cordite built in.

randy

Thanks obiwan, Mike, and rds1 !

obiwan - I hadn’t thought oif that. I guess this does make ma a “Widowmaker” !

Mike - With dryfitting and care, the kit can be built pretty much “glitch-free.” The only areas of concern I had were the seam where the booms meet the wing’s trailing edge (sheet styrene plugs) , and the canopy (it’s a little narrow). Even for a twin-boom arrangement, the alignment was true and not fiddly.

rds1 - unfortunately, the Alcad Steel I use just smells like Alcad (yuck !).

Thanks again !

Pixi;
now that’s the reason they look great, what brand of regulator are you using?, is it a Badger reg with a Badger compessor? or another brand of compressor?
