Old Star Wars Kits

Just wondering…are any of the old MPC and/or AMT kits worth anything beyond their orginal value? I have several unbuilt Tie fighters and X-wing fighters. Not to mention two Millenuim Falcons…one being a cutaway version.

They very well might be. You should check out a collectibles sites, of which I have no examples of, of course! Sorry!

Look on Ebay. A lot of collectors sell and buy over there.

The only Falcon worth any serious money is the first issue Star Wars (aka A New Hope) one that was lighted. The cutaway and Return of the Jedi ones go for about what they originally did. The AMT/Ertl reissue ROTJ Falcon may go for less than the MPC original.

The Y-Wing fighter is the only one of the small snap kits that was hard to find and worth a bit more than its original price. X-Wing, TIE, B-Wing, A-Wing all made reappearances. Prices took a plummet once the Fine Molds X-Wing and TIE came out.

Snow Speeder still draws some money as do the R2-D2 and C3PO kits. The AT-AT is another kit that holds its value.

Speaking of Snowspeeders…anyone know where I can get my hands on a kit? E-Bay seems to be tapped out. Also, on the same subject…I seem to have a vague recollection of a FSM feature article re: a large scale scratch built snowspeeder…but a search of the archives reveals nothing…any help???

I have an old Snowspeeder kit, no box but complete, if you’re interested. E-mail me at ussarcadia@sbcglobal.net.

i dont like collectors cause the drive the price up for others that get models to build

The best thing to do is just watch ebay for a while. I managed to find all but a couple of the out of production kits I was after. TIP: watch for lots, you may get a kit or two you didn’t need but the price is some what better per piece. Happy hunting. [oX)]
