old monogram kit

hi guys,[:)]
just seen an old monogram 1/48 tropical hurricane on evil[}:)]bay[:p] and wonder whether the kit is any good?
help would be uch appreciated as i’m usually a little reluctant to step outside the tamiya / hasegawa / dragon zone!!
many thanks,
nick

If you can afford the “good” stuff you don’t need the old Monogram Hurricane unless you are a collector. It has retactable main gear, no wheel well detail, no cockpit detail, just a decal for the instrument panel. You have to put the pilot in because there insn’t any seat, stick, or cockpit floor.

yeehah bought one of these last year and I think I can safely say that it will probably be the last kit he ever builds.
Only buy it if you cannot get anything else, the spitfire sucks as well!

Yeah, they’re products of their times all right. They were great when I was 12 and there was no Hasegawa Hurricane to show me how it should be done. Get the Hasegawa, it’s worth it.

And does anyone know how their old Tu-16 fares…?

thanks guys[:)]
guess i’ll give it a miss[V]…
the problem is that i’m looking for a trop hurricane to do as stationed in malta when he island was under seige, and can’t see a tam or hase one anywhere[}:)]
if anyone does see one, stateside, europe or on evil[}:)]bay etc etc please let me know.
many thanks,
nick
