I am not good with the the net (84) but appreciate response…can’t get the tracks on after painting the models (Tamiya). Too short! Thanks

We need a little more info. What kit? Are they one piece vinyl tracks or multi-piece length and link tracks? How are you trying to put them on, ie. slipping over road wheels, sliding around them, etc., etc…

Thanks for response. Older Tamiya tank kit, tracks rubber with the 4 hole/4 pin connection 1/35 walker bulldog. Completed and painted kit with all wheels in place but not glued. Ran tracks over the forward and back wheels. Could not get tracks to meet but near one of the four wheels. Tried staple w/o success. Ended up gluing tracks to bogey wheel. Should I have put only some wheels then tracks?

Yes but attaching photos at my age is embarrassingly bad. Really old one piece rubber, no details on the inner side.

Yes,that works,leaving off some roadwheels till after the track,also sometimes the kit allows you to adjust the idler arm,if leave it loose till after the track,then glue it.

Try giving them a constant spin while youre attaching them. Instead of pulling them to go over the wheels, id put them on the sprocket and then use the rotation of the idler to rotate them into place.

I find myself in a similar situation, building the tracks. I am building Tamiya’s 1:48 scale T-55 Russian medium tank kit number 32598. I had decided to build the tracks separately, and then to set it up after painting the wheels, but I guess that shouldn’t matter. There are two long tracks which have to be joined with individual track components. When I try to curve them, these keep breaking from the cemented joints.

There’s a good possibility the tracks in that M41 kit have shrunk if it’s an old release.
