old Firefighter kit finished

finally got this one off the bench. started it to take a break from the military stuff. LOTS of flash and rough parts , so it tended to drag and not “flow” so easy. did some light weathering and added some drums as detailing. btw , finally got to image posting here!

Please tell us the name of this kit and if possible, send a picture of the model boxtop.

Happy modeling crackers

i imagine im not the only one who cuts out and keeps the front box art !

Well done! I have that kit minus the hull, which went to another project. PM me if anyone wants parts.

Bill

thanks , yes i can see how the hull could be adapted very well to a coastal freighter or deep sea salvage tug scratch build. would love to see what you did with it

Very nice. I’m going to have to find that kit. Great job on a super cool subject.

My kit had these gawdafful chrome plated “monitor” fixtures. I forgvet the scale of the original kit, something like 1/80.

My project is a Tacoma based Seiner, specifically John Steinbeck’s rented Western Flyer from the "Sea of Cortez’ books.

I’ll be happy to do a thread on where that build is (isn’t).

Your model is a classic.
