The first installment is up. I paid a few extra bucks this year and got the photo tour and pit pass. This first group of photos were taken on the photo tour which starts two hours before the main gates open at nine and allow photo ops of all the planes on the flight line with minimal bodies in the way. This is the reason for the low sun angle and canopy covers in some shots. We got up earlier than some of the pilots [|)]
The Spit and Hurricane from the Fighter Factory didn’t show up till mid day but I did manage to get a shot of them as well.
The next group will be taxi and airborne shots taken from the photo pit which was next to the main taxi way and will include most of the aircraft that were airborne on Saturday including a couple B2 flyby pix. I should have these up in another day or so time permitting. Enjoy ! http://www.computech-online.net/~garyb/tom06/odtom06.htm
Awesome pics!!! Seems like i see that “Marines Dream” corsair at every single airshow. Dont know how many flyable corsairs there are but he sure makes his rounds.
Where you there both days? I was there on Sunday. It was a great show, loved the Lanc as she took off and headed for home. The Spits, Hurricanes and the 109 were fun to watch. That 109 has a wonderful sound.
Did you get any pics of the WWII battle? I’ll look for some over on the armor thread.
I only did Saturday, drove up Friday afternoon and home Sunday morning. I did not take in the battle but next time up I think I will, it looked pretty interesting from a distance and it sure sounded real. I only managed to get one photo of the German tank. I saw the Lancaster arrive when it was there two years ago and she sure paints a pretty picture in the sky.
