Old Aircraft decals

I was going through my dad’s old modeling stuff and I came across 30 or so sets of decals made by a company called micro scale. My dad hasn’t built models since the mid 80’s so they’re all close to 20 years old if not older. All of the decals are still in perfect conditon no yellowing, cracking, missing decals, or instructions. Some of the packages are still sealed. I was wondering what something like this would be worth?

Thanks,

Hi and welcome to the forum,
A short while back someone posted an ebay listing where the winning bid for a set of 1/48 scale Devastator decals was over $150.00 . You just never know what someone is willing to pay. Ebay may be your answer, but usually decal sets go for $6.00-$10.00 . Hope this helps,

Hey Moparific,
I just picked up 20+ set of Microscale sheets for $1-2 each at a recent show. I’ve seen comparable sheets go for $4-8 on E-Bay, alot depends on scale and subject. All Microscale aircraft decal sheets are out of production but many are still available.
Whatcha driving?

You could just start with each individual sheet at a certain price, say $1.00 USD and see where the bidding goes. If they’re rare and people want them, the bidding can get pretty heated.

Or you could sell them as a lot and the price could go very high because people might only want a couple in the set but would be willing to pay for it.

Personally, I’d like it if you’d post them individually, so I can “pick through” what you’ve got and see what I can use. [:D]

Old decals from the 80’s??? Microscale is out of production? Thats all I have in my morgue is Microscale decals. Has it really been 20 years ago? Where has the time gone? Man am I FEELING OLD[banghead]

Don’t EVEN look in the mirror.[}:)]
