OH-58D (pictures)

Here’s the 1:35 OH-58D Kiowa Warrior “Black Death” kit from MRC. I did it as a Christmas gift for my dad. He flew them for 20 years in the army before retiring and going to fly in Iraq for Blackwater Aviation (he’s a contractor). Any input is appreciated.

Looking good

i hope mine turns out that good. mine is on the shelf waiting its turn.[:D][:D]

Very nice Brandon!
I’m about to start that kit with the Cutting Edge update set. Any advice?
I’m probably going to put it in 1-25th Attack markings, but haven’t decided on anything yet.

Great KW!

the detail’s pretty good and the model overall turns out to be a great looking one. The only problems i had were some slight fit problems with the two main fuselage halves enclosing the interior. You may have to do a little cutting to parts on the inside for a good fit.

hmm… this raises the likelyhood of me building mine with the cutting edge set… You’ve done a fine job with yours! i’d like to know of any advice you may have about building it as well. [:D]

Btw, cobrahistorian, do you know of any aftermarket decal sets for OIF OH-58D markings? or did you plan to make the markings yourself?

Jay,

I was just gonna do the markings myself. The Cutting Edge set has some pics of a 3-7 Cav bird with the “Garry Owen” distinctive unit insignia on the ALQ-144 mount, but other than that, the only interesting markings I’ve seen have been those two 25th ID birds, one of which I think I will build.

Looks great.
Thanks for posting…always good to see the final-build photos.
