Hey all, I’m having a problems coming up with the right color for tank treads. I either get too much silver or too much black. Anyone have a perfect fix?

Here’s the methods that I use.

All Steel Tracks

  • Base coat of gunmetal
  • dry brush of rust
  • dry brush of steel
  • rub graphite powder over the entire track
  • dust with pastel chalks with the rest of the tank

Tracks with Rubber Pads

  • base coat of flat black
  • paint all metal parts with gunmetal
  • dry brush all metal parts with rust
  • dry brush all metal parts with steel
  • rub graphite powder on all metal parts
  • dust entire track with pastel chalks with the rest of the tank.
