Guys:
Hi! I was up on ebay yesterday and saw 2 Tamiya kits that I’ve never seen before other than in their 2004 Catalog. One is the Steyr RSO/01 #32404 and the Puma 5cm Kwk # 32401. One of our Ausie brothers is selling these 2 kits and I’m thinking of making a bid on the RSO. Does anyone know anything about the quality etc of these kits? I’ve never heard anything about them and don’t want to waste my money if they are just like the Italeri kits.
Thanks
Charlie
Tamiya reboxed several Italeri kits for their domestic market.
Puma
Mercedes truck
RSO tractor
and something else I can’t recall at this second.
They updated them by including some jerry cans or other Tamiya products in the same box.
They used to have the older Hetzer, Pz 38 (t) as well.
HI! Thanks for the follow-up on the Tamiya kits. I would have never thought that they would do that but you learn something everyday! You saved me a bit of cash (last bid I saw on it was $26.00 and ithe auction doesn’t end until 2/3) since I can get the Italeri RSO at my local hobby shop here in Ohio. Then there is shipping to consider. I think I can scrounge up some Tamiya oil drums and stuff to feel better about it.
Thanks

Hasegawa’s reboxed several Monogram kits for the Japanese market, too. I know a few modelers who have ordered what they thought were “rare” kits from Japan, only to find R-M plastic inside the box!
