If you knew the date, you knew what to expect ! This is Eduard’s Bell X-1, with the resin & P.E. goodies. For those who didn’t know the date, it was when the immortal Chuck Yeager broke the sound “barrier.” Thanks for letting me share, and I hope you like it. Pix.
Hey Pix,
Out of all your creations, I like this one the best!! Not just because it was basically built down the road from me but it gives it a look of hauling some well use your imagination[:p].
OK I lied, your b/w pic of the Betty is rather sweet lookin too[:p][:p][;)].
Keep up the good work my friend.
Flaps up, Mike
Well, thank you, Butz ! I’ll admit, it was a challenge to get the motion w/o making the plane a complete blur ! I’m glad that you like it ! I’m thinking of submitting it to the Reader’s Gallery in the mag. I’ve sent in a disc already, so when I have more, they’ll be getting another package from me ! Thanks again, Pix.
Hey Pix,
Speakin of submitting pics to the mag, I aught to do that myself.
Maybe my 262 or my Dewoitine or maybe both? Who knows but the shadow do…!!!
Flaps up, Mike
If I had builds that looked as good as those, I would DEFINATELY submit them. I doubt if mine would be considered w/o the image manipulation. Those are some nice models, Butz ! Give it a shot . . .nothin’ to lose but the postage, right ? Good luck, Pix.
Hey Pix,
Thank you too kindly. I guess we are our own worst enemy. From what I have seen of your builds, you are up there w/ the best of them.
Like I have said before, it has taken me quite a while to get where I’m at now. I still feel that I’m not there yet!!
As long as you enjoy the hobby and enjoy what you build, thats all that counts right!!
I’m in awe in what you do on the PC w/ your models. Thats a talent itself[;)]
So maybe I’ll take a few more pics of both my builds and see what happens ya know. Wont know till I try[:p][:p][:p][;)]
Flaps up, Mike
another nice one pix!
gonna post before/after pics? ![]()
Hey, muzzleflash ! Here’s the pics for you ! The plane & the background. The effects are filters (different blurs & a "pinch to the background. Thanks, Pix.

Excellent!
Thanks, J-Hulk ! I can’t tell you how much easier it is to re-create flames from a rocket than it is to do a spinning prop ! Too bad my jet collection is so limited ! Thanks again, Pix.
Pix, I wouldn’t be surprised if you get offers from the manufacturers asking you to do their boxtops!
Maybe that’s why I’m persuing a degree in Media Arts ! I have always felt that if you find something that you would do for free, THAT is the best bet for an occupation !
THANKS FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT ! (Since you live in Japan, do you personally know Mr. Tamiya or Mr. Hasegawa ? Would be nice to have someone on the “inside” ! )
Hi, Pix![:)]
While I have met and exchanged business cards with both Mr. Hasegawa and Mr. Tamiya, I would be hesitant to claim to “know” them! Mr. Tamiya did go out with us (Naniwa Sensha-tai, my club) after the Shizuoka Hobby Show for a few beers, though.
But I do work with Mr. Hirata at Tamiya, who is in charge of “Tamiya News” (I have an article and pictures in the December issue), so I’m sure I could show him some of your works. They are always interested in what’s going on overseas with their products.
Gotta be Tamiya models, though!
Your Betty pic would knock their sox off for sure!
I always have to hunt for my sox after seeing your pix![:0]
I love this stuff. One day I’ll have to get a digital camera and find someone with the smarts to show me how to use it.
THANKS ! ! !
lpolpo22 - Using cameras, like modelling, is more a matter of experience rather than smarts. I was in a photo class with someone who just COULDN’T develop a roll of film. She would only get 2 or 3 pictures to print, but they were knockouts. I find that learning what NOT to do is far more valuable, as there is no “right.” Its a matter of what you’re trying to get, and how successful you are in reaching what you envision your work to be. The GREAT thing about digitals is that you don’t waste film, you get instant results, and you can quickly reshoot something that doesn’t satisfy you. Give it a try ! ! !
J-Hulk - Thank you too much for your comments. A lot of my stuff is in the rongeorge gallery. “Over the Pacific” shows a Tamiya Wildcat downing a Hasegawa Zeke (they might LIKE that ! ), and the other 2 Tamiya kits I’ve used - the Betty & the FW 190F-8 in “Ivan scores” both show their kits going down in flames ! I will see what I can do to show their kits in a more “positive” manner. You are more than welcome to show my images from the gallery. (I have a Swordfish underway, it would look good dropping a torpedo - if I can get a pic of the ocean somehow)
THANKS AGAIN ! ! ! (Have you tried looking in the dryer for your socks ? That’s where mine seem to live !)
Well Pix, let’s see what we can do!
What a guy ! I can’t thank you enough !
Aw, Hulk just do what Hulk can![^]
Thanks, Brian ! Pix’s pics are winging their way across the Pacific at this very moment ! ! !
Got 'em!
