Obi Wan Kenobi 3d print WIP complete 7/12/2025

Yes, scorching and some chipping is coming soon.

Yesterday I started with some weathering on the armor. Just some light chipping to see how it looks, used a sponge.

That is all for Friday, off for the weekend; but, back at it on Monday.

I like the chipping effect you achieved and I think you hit the sweet spot of just enough. :+1:

Thanks Phoenix, let me know if anything sticks out as being wrong. At this pace it would not be to late to go back and fix, if my skill set allows. Lol

Right arm has been attached.

Will see if I can get the left on tomorrow.

…and now the left arm.

For some reason the 5 min epoxy is taking about 35 minutes to set up.

I have 5 Min epoxy like that. I think they mean it takes 5 minutes to thoroughly mix A+B

Lol, maybe that is it. Just spent two lunch hours holding arms in place, ugh.
However, today is Monday and a different day.
I gloss coated the lightsaber blade and worked on the hilt detail.

Then I started on the name plate.

Then added some dry brush highlights to the head and marked the perspective for the eyes.

Because the head is the only flesh that shows, I do want to try and take some time with it. That is all for today.

Obi-Wan is coming along nicely. Like the latest work you’ve done with head.

Your painting is really bringing it together. Those eyes realistic!

Thanks guys, appreciate you helping me out. I think I am about done, I need to take it home and put a clear coat on him. I do not want to push my luck, lol.

I sprayed a clear satin coat and I think it tied it altogether quite well. I think I will call this done.

Nicely done!
How do you like printing your own kits in comparison to an injection molded one?

Thanks, I like printing kits and with each one i am learning how to print better. There are a lot of models to print giving more options than what is currently available in plastic kit. I must admit, i am more comfortable with the plastic kits.

Nice finish. The dramatic pose is a refreshing change from most static busts.
