I’m going to propose a T-34 build to be completed over a single weekend, probably in August. There is an article on this exact topic in the November 2003 FSM, also available on-line at the following link, so it should be pretty easy for a novice such as myself to get into the idea. The article discusses building a Tamiya 1/35 T-34/85, but the build would be open to any brand, any scale, any mark T-34.
Interesting idea. Make sure you bump the topic up in August before the start date. I’ve got several 1/72 and 1/76 T-34 variants that I could cobble together in one weekend.
Ralph, I like MAD builds too. Keep in mind there is already a MAD T-34 DAY (24hrs) scheduled for mid july. Rebelreenactor has it going it slipped to page 3 but here is the link
Shows what I get for not following closely [:(] I see little point in having 2 MAD builds of the same subject on successive months, so I’m going to withdraw my suggestion. I also don’t think there’s any way I’m going to get my kit done in 24 hours or I’d join RebelReenactor’s build. I guess I’ll have to have my own 1-madman weekend…
Best of luck to those of you doing a 1/35 T-34 in 24 hours!
Cmon, you should join anyway. It’s all in the name of fun anyway. oh yeah and madness too. Don’t get bummed. If you don’t finish in 24hrs just finish when you can. Not much chance any of us will TOTALLY finish anyway. Consider this an elbow to the side. Or a recruitment notice, whatever you prefer [:D]
