Since I’ve been posting pics of the Abrams here, I thought I’d babble on like a proud father as well.
When I got home today I was greeted by a package on my doorstep. My new Badger 360 finally arrived. I gave it a shot and man this thing works great. Far and away better than the Aztek A270 I had been using. I didn’t think I’d feel confident using a dual action this early in my airbrushing skill but I actually feel more confident with the Badger than I did with the Aztek. It’s nice to have total control over the amount of paint that is sprayed. I also picked up a Campbell Hausfeld Quiet Air 2 gallon compressor which also works excellent.
Congrats on getting your airbrush. Practice on some scrap styrene or buy some cheaper models and practice on them. You will get the hang of it faster than you think.
Oh, I absolutely love my Badger 360. One word of caution, when you dissasemble it fo the first time, pay attention to what goes where. I did it real quick, thinking “The Add says Easy to assemble/dissassemble” then realized I didn’t know where all the stuff goes. It is actually pretty easy, just that moment of fear and thinking “oh, what did I do”!! One other thing, the little paint tip at the tip of the airbrush (you won’t see it unles you take the end off) is easy to deform and can eventually get hairline cracks, leading to bubbles in the cup. They are cheap replacements, so I always have a few on hand. It can deform when you remove the needle and then puh it back in. Kind of fragile. A great place for spare parts is www.webairbrushes.com
Bubbles in the cup, eh? That’s exactly what is wrong with my airbrush. I keep that thing so clean you could eat off it, but EVERY TIME I set it up and go to use it, the cup turns into a bubbling volcano. I never thought about replacing the tip…
I was in a panic when it happened and called Badger. I was told it was either a bad seal inside the airbrush or more likely the pant tip. I buy them from webairbrushes.com in bulk now.
Thanks for the heads up, I took the brush apart last night after I used it and it took me about 20 minutes to get it back together and working properly. I’m almost done with the Abrams so the two Bradley IFV’s on my shelf will be the first to get the Badger.
