But ive messed up my canopy parts, windscreen and canopy, on my Academy P-47D thunderbolt. Would any of you happen to have a spare one of these parts?

How did you do it - these things are sometimes fixable… If not I do have the razorback canopy sprue laying around as I switched to squadrons Vac Form canopies. Other possibly quicker options are to write academy and ask for a new one Or try the Vac form challenge… you may never go back! let me know -J
Im not exactly sure what happened. But I let the future dry for what i though was ample time, 24 hours, so put some 3m painters tape on it to hold the part while i painted the frames, when i took the tape off, it like melted the future, it has a big smeared blob looking mark on it where the tape was, on the inside and outside of the canopy, kinda on the rear left side. Same thing happend with the front wind screen too.
UPDATE: Ive since redipped them in the future and it seemed to have cleared it up, but now i have no way of holding the parts for their final dip!!
Two ideas:

Set the canopy on a papwer towel and brush the future on. Future will self-level and the paper towel will absorb excess future.

Use the tweezers/clamps to hold it somewhere on the frame area; You can smooth out later, as it will painted over.

Interesting. watch out with that blue painters tape is all i can say I’ve had it yank up paint where a better tape would not have before. If your still interested in my canopy, I have an even better proposal (maybe) - which drop tanks if any were you going to use? the academy kit has an awful rendition of the pressed paper 110 gallon tank included and I desperately want it to complement the one I stole and heavilly modified for on my P-51 project (see 0 to NMF in a day post) the smaller teardrop tanks were a rare sight on birds operating out of england on long range escort missions and having yours would solve allot of problems ! let me know
