SInce some of you seemed to like my Italian ME-163 so much[;)]
Here’s something different I did a couple of years back. It’s a Seibel fh-104 Hallore transport built from the 1/72 Pavla kit. With the exception of a few extra panel lines for accuracy, she’s straight from the box.
It represents an early post war Czech example that wore military and civil markings at the same time, which I think is pretty unusual. From what I’ve read, only 80 of these planes were made in real life, so its a bit of a rarity indeed.
Enjoy, hopfully the weather takes a turn for the good and I can get my RAAF F-111G done and a few photos posted to share.
Very nice model. Its nice when the more unusual stuff appears. It is fairly unusual to have military and civil markings on the same aircraft, and it’s quite an attractive plane too
I’m not entirely sure what the wiring material is, its been around the house for years, its like light fishing line, black in colour and comes on a sewing thread spool. It works well, sorry I couldn’t tell you more about it.
The Vark is coming close to done, there were a lot of decals, mainly small stencils so its taken a few decaling sessions to get it all done. The weather is going to be questionable this weekend so I’m going to be paying my local hobby shop a visit to pick up some styrene rod and a new pin vice for an armor project I’ve got happening. Beyond that most of my modeling efforts will be on my 1/48 Buccaneer S.2.
Thanks for the good comments and the Vark will be posted as soon as I can.
That’s a neat, different little plane ! Good job. I like the fact that its 1/72, and you can even see in the cabin windows ! Is that a faired-over turret on top?
Yeah, the cabin was interesting to do, the seats were all photoetch and there was a bit of scratchbuilding. the entire cabin area as covered by a nice big clear vac form piece that I just had to mask the windows off on for painting. The hardest part was getting the vac form piece to sit nice and flush with the surrounding styrene.
I’m not sure what the thing on top is. The kit came with two post war Czech versions and a WWII German one. Both the Czech ones had that gadget but the German one didn’t. I suspect its a compass or perhaps a radome for a weather radar or some other electronic gizmo.
You can see pictures of the kit’s other variants and some of the other real oddities that Pavla offers on their website.

I planning a trip to the Czech Republic this summer, so I can hardly wait to see all the goodies on their hobby shop shelves, I’m sure we only see the tip of their hobby iceberg over hear in North America
