I built this “Turkey” for a Battle of Midway entry I missed:

Yep, the typical freehand, no masking, brush painter strikes again!
For this one I did a lot of research to accurately depict a Midway Avenger, including begging a certain model maker for a spare set of decals.
Like any Accurate Minitures kit this one has an overdone cockpit interior that is impossible to fit without constant filing, etc…
Interestingly enough, I actually found the right color of purple to depict the painted-over red-and-white pre-war rudder color bleed-through.

Very sharp Tom. I know what you mean about the interior fit. I’m in the middle of this kit too. It’s not for a “quick-build” weekend, that’s for sure.
Andy
Guy’s, I agree with you on the interior. The fit can be a little bit of a PIA but you have to admit this is a very good kit if not the best of the turkey. I’ve never done a Trumpy, but at the clank they’re asking for that, I don’t think I ever will. [sigh]
Tom great build [bow] Brushed too!!! Great job.

Chris,
Thanks, all [#welcome ]
This I keep “under glass”, like the '32 scale Wildcat, in a nice plastic display case.
Looks like I need to add some more shots to this one.
