Some of yoose guys may already use this stuff but if you haven’t, you might want to give it try. For years I’ve been salvaging every tiny scrap of sandpaper because plastic and paint loads it up so fast. I bought some Norton 3X paper at Home Depot a few weeks ago to sand a work table I was staining and I finished the entire thing with the same piece that I started with. Didn’t load up at all. Has the same effect on plastic. The grit is very consistent too. It cost a little more but a pack should last you for years!
Hate to sound like a commercial- just thought you’d like to know.
Let me follow up. I went to Home Depot and purchased the sandpaper and it is as you said. I also found synthetic steel wool by Norton. The synthetic steel wool is great for final polish and comes in 0000,000,0, and 1 grade. The other Norton product I found was the 3X sanding pads. This product is awesome and very useful. Just cut it into sizes that are appropriate for your project. I’m going to be keeping all three of these fine products in my hobby tool box from now on! Thanks for the great tip stoopidfish. [8D]
