Hello. Where to begin…? I’m a lover of things in miniature since I was miniature. There is just something I can’t describe about observing realism in minute detail that leaves a sense of deep satisfaction. I was an avid, but unrefined model builder in my childhood, through to pre-teen. I moved to gaming miniatures in my youth. Then, I became an accomplished carpenter/cabinet-maker, where my attention to detail was well outletted. I continued with the gaming miniatures off and on for years, becoming reasonably skilled. I never won, or enterd, a contest, but I usually fielded the best looking minis on the table. I have juggled the idea of returning to modelling as a hobby for years.
I have a deep facination about WWII, and I always preferred WWII era planes and and tanks as subjects for modelling. So, in the intrest of NOT biting off more than I can chew, I have decided to purchase an early pz. mk VI Tiger. One color, perhaps just off the factory floor, so as to use washes for depth and detail. Giving me a bit of assembly and basic painting experience before I move on to something more challenging. I would be grateful to pick the brains of some of you here, and welcome suggestions.
Thanks for having me!
