No Matter How Hard I Try...

Each time I try to coat my pieces with Future, The end result is small fibers trapped in the future. This is my method

  1. Paint piece and let dry for 48+ hours. (perfect coat)

  2. Airbrush future in several thin coats at 15 psi. (fibers appear)[:(!][:(!]

I am not thinning future and my airbrush is clean.

I am letting the pices dry in a sealed container.

Pics soon to come.

try turning up the pressure on the regulator to about 50psi and blow off your desk area first… also you could get a spray bottle from Wal Mart (empty) and put some water in it and mist your desk area before spraying…

try wiping the model down with a tack rag before you spray. It’s what i do and it wroks every time.

I’ve heard of the tac rag and will give it the old college try. I guess this can be obtained at home depot in the painter’s section?

Where are you airbrushing and what is in the room?
Are you using a cardboard spray booth?
Are you using newspaper around the model while painting?

Mike

  1. garage, everything that’s supposed to be in a garage
  2. no
  3. no

A tack rag can be made but it’s just cheesecloth embedded with wax. If Home Depot doesn’t have them, try your auto parts store. Also think about gloss coat instead of Future.

I’ve had the same problem

Do you have a cat??

I have better results brush painting Future and storing the model in an enclosed space to dry. The only problem is to make sure that it does`nt collect on lower edges.
Hope this helps.

yes, but it stays out more than in because of the dog.
