No clear cowling on Trumpeter 1/32 Corsair F4U-1D ?

I just read a review that stated that unlike the F4U-4, the F4U-1D does not come with a clear cowling to show off the engine. I’m getting a 1D and I was looking forward to painting half the clear cowling and leaving the other half clear, but apparently the clear cowling only comes in the F4U-4.

Can anyone confirm or deny this ?

AJ.

Go to the Modeling Madness web site and look at the build going on there:

.
It looks like a clear cowl to me, but drop the webmaster a note and he’ll confirm it.

Actually, that online build is of an F4U-4. There is an online build of the F4U-1D at the IPMS website:

http://www.ipmsusa.org/Reviews/Kits/Aircraft/Trumpeter_32_F4U1D/Trumpeter_32_F4U-1D.htm

The first page shows the parts and there is a clear plastic cowling.

Oops. Sorry about that. It was late and I misread.

Still, the on-line builds are pretty cool!
