NMFwith acrylics...

I am building a P-47d with a NMF. I went really cheap and unadventurous and just got Modelmaster acrylic flat aluminum for the finish. I know most modelers prefer special NMF paints like Alclad but has anybody tried this? It looks good so far on my build.

I use Tamiya AS-12 Rattle Can or their X11 Chrome Silver with good effects. Not quite NMF but a pretty good representation.

Dont be shy about the Alclad, great stuff and I have found it easy to use.

Ditto what the King says! Alclad can be easy if you keep it simple. And the effect is very realistc

I use hawkeyeshobbies.com acrylic nmf. See my P36 on his site. Its great stuff and water cleanup.

thanks for the suggestions. I don’t think i’ll use Alclad or Hawkeye on this build but might try it in the future. I have sprayed a few coats on with the Modelmasters acrylics and it looks pretty good. i wish i could post some pics but alas, I have no digital camera so it could be a while. By the way jamalone, what kit is that? It looks great.
