NMF on Mig-21

Hello,

I’m working on a 1/32 Mig-21 with a natural metal finish using Alclad. This is my first time with Alclad. I’m listing the steps here, can someone verify if they’ll work and if they’re in the right order please? Thanks

  1. prime the Mig with Mr Surfacer 1200 (light grey)
  2. buff and sand primed model to a smooth finish
  3. pre-shading the panel lines with thinned Gunze acrylic black
  4. spray Alclad aluminum, let cure overnight
  5. mask certain panels, spray exposed surface with Alclad dark aluminum for tonal effect. let cure.
  6. decal

My main question is, will Alclad “eat” into the acrylic preshade?

Thank you in advance. I’ll post pics with it’s done.

Alclad2 is a lacquer, but if the acrylic has completely cured & you only spray light coats of Alclad2, allowing the color to build up gradually, it shouldn’t be a problem. The Gloss Black Primer from Alclad is an acrylic.
