Night Terrors: Heinkel He 219A-7 Wknr 290123 (Tamiya 1/48)

Another one of Tamiya’s excellent kits, the He 219A-7 in 48th.

I had some self induced issues, but the kit almost built itself.

Beautiful work. How did you get that tight camouflage on the top side?

I built this one many years ago with the same scheme, but my camouflage was more splotchy like mottling found on Luftwaffe fighters.

Great build! Wish I was able to pull off a Paint job like that. Very nice.

Thanks! I did the squiggles with water based acrylics and a fine tipped brush. It took me 30 minutes or less. I think the squiggles should have been tighter, but for a first timer, looks good.

I reckon you could try with an airbrush at low pressure, but I’m not familiar with them, so I don’t know much.

Well I never would have guessed that was hand brushed. But now I recall seeing a post you made where you said you don’t use an airbrush. Regardless of technique, it is a very impressive paint job.

I agree, that’s a very convincing camouflage pattern. Well done!
