Awesome F-14s! Tomcats is my all time favorite mordern figther. but was sad when it retired now. Would love to try out those kits. Which kits do you recommend to work with?
Nicely done Thor.

Thor,
Outstanding work! Your weathering and shading are perfect, IMHO! Thanks for sharing with us!

Very Nice F-14s. It makes you sad they were retired.
Your work on the F-14 models is a fitting tribute to a great fighter aircraft. I really like the old style, full color, high visibility color schemes.

Good job on the tomcats. They look very sharp.
Those look awesome Thor!!! Hopefully soon I will have a couple built to show off, but I got to get some finished up that I already started… but your’s look great! [tup]
Thank you all for the nice comments!
silentmodeler: it’s hard for me to recommend you any of teh kits, since I don’t know your skills. There are 5 main brands offering 1/72:
Italeri - cheap, but I don’t like the detail, raised panel lines and I don’t like the looks of the nose and cockpit area
Academy: haven’t build one yet, but have one in my stash, cheap, engraved panel lines and from other comments, a nice alternative to the Japanese brands…
Revell: cheap, overall looks pretty good: deep panel ines, some edges too thick, decals printed a bit too thick - but can be built into nice examples - (look at mine)
Fujimi: expencive but looks very nice - gives you a lot of options including a separate engine on a trolly + weapons, pretty accurate too
Hasegawa: the most expencive and most accurate Tomcat in 1/72, without weapons and experience required to build it nicely…
Very nice! As the others said, great build and finish. Well done!
