Nichimo 1/20 Cessna Skyhawk 172

Hi all
i just got myself one of these Nichimo 1/20 scale Cessna 172 Skyhawks.I was just wondering if any of you out there knew of any good reference sites i could get some pictures from especially of the engine. It looks a good kit but has any of you built one and if so is there anything to look out for in the way of glitches.I got this kit cheap and compared to the price of the last one that was sold on ebay im quite lucky to get this kit for the price i paid, someone has told me they are as rare as hens teeth. If anyone could help with any references at all i would be most greatful.

Clive.

Hello Clive,

Don’t know where you’re located at, but the best thing to do is go down to the local airport. There is bound to be one or two 172s there. Before you do so though, figure out what mark of 172 you have as the details are different between them. Looking at the painting, I would guess an M or possibly R (the most common mark is the R). www.landings.com has a search feature at the very bottom that will help you with this. When you get to the airport be sure to ask first at the FBO before you go wandering on the tarmac, especially in this day and age. You will also find that the FBO operator can be very knowledgable and helpful with your research. If you’re lucky there maybe a facility at the airport that works on airplanes and they may let you get pictures of things like an uncowled engine and other small details. When talking to these people let them know what you’re doing, it can sure help!
