Nice shot of some tail

Dornier tail that is. Progress continues on the Matchbox 1/72 Do-18D-2. Here the tail rigging is installed and you can also see the twin rudders.

The engine pylon for one of the two I’m building has been glued in place. Arrow “A” indicates the new location of the directional antenna and arrow “B” is the rear pylon brace still being faired in with some Mr. Surfacer 500.

The propellers were painted in advance of assembly and are now masked with tubes made from rolled masking tape. The general color scheme will be overall light gray with black engine and pylon and yellow upper wing surface.

Lookin’ good as always Swanny![:)]

That’s cool Matt! The engine assembly is akin to the one on the S.55X. I’d be afraid to put the rigging on that early in the construction, 'cause I know I’d tear it up before it was through. [:(]

Beautiful work on a real classic aeroplane, thanks for showing it… (eventhough it ‘ain’t’ the tail I was expecting) hehehe [:D]

Take care,
Frank

Looks great!

Fade to Black…

Swan-I am deeply offended by your tease topic post-because I didn’t think of it first. Nice boat/plane.

LOL! Talk about false advertising! Looking fantastic as always, Swanny! - Calvin

Looking great Swanny.

As I have one of these to build sometime any real pitfalls one should be aware of please. Oh by the way I do not consider the build particularly exceptional, so far as your standards are concerned - but otherwise it is very neat etc etc. As a matter of interest are you going to cheat and hand paint the rigging or completely mask the reat of the rest of the airframe in order to spay it??

PS Please forgive the “English” humour but it is where we live, that is the cause.
