Newbie modeler, thank you covid!

Used to do some modeling back in junior high and high school. Live alone and to keep my sanity I started modeling again after watching a lot of videos on YouTube.

Been back at it since October and so far have completed a T-15 Armata, M1-A1 Abrams, F-22, Gundam MG Exia, and currently working on an Apache AH-64. Really enjoy it, and considering getting a resin 3D printer to make my own upgrade parts to enhance models.

Welcome aboard.

Welcome,

I just joined myself and agree with you, building models is a great way to spend your free time.

I’ve been 3d printing models for a couple years now. First with a Davinci Mini, then an Ender 3 Pro, both FDM (filament) printers. Things got interesting a year ago when I picked up a Creality LD-002r resin printer, I’m amazed at what it can print. I’ve been using both the Ender and LD-002r on my latest projects, the Ender makes the large parts and the LD-002r the details. After a couple years trying to learn Blender I’m almost dangerous. I now find that I enjoy the 3D design work almost as much as building the models.

If your not into printing whole models, there’s no end to the enhancements a resin printer can create for kits and dioramas.

Here are some detail parts I printed for my US Pershing tank with my LD-002r

At the sub $300 price point the new resin printers are now going for they’re a bargan.
