New Zap-A-Gap bottle?

I was just at Michael’s and noticed some Zap-A-Gap CA+ there on the shelf and remembered that I was out, so I bought it.
It is a 1/2 oz bottle and has a black, screw-on cap instead of the old press on cap that I usually get. Is this a new bottle design? It looks to me like the same cap they put on the Zap Debonder bottle. Here’s a photo:

dunno. is that stuff good? They have some at michael’s and I might give it a go.

Tanky,

In my opinion, Zap is the best CA glue out there.
It is the only brand I have used ever since my days of R/C sailplanes back in the early 80’s.
I hear that Hot Stuff is also good but I have never tried it.

Mike

i’ve never had any luck using CA as a gap filler. probably operator error, but i don’t use it anymore. looks like a better design if so. later.

I haven’t seen the new packaging around here, but it looks like it would be OK. I’ll ask about it at the LHS tomorrow.

Regards, Rick

I have used the Zap-A-Gap in the above bottle design now for about a year and it is great so far the bottles have not clogged on me, and the design I think allows me better control. I can put just a couple of drops in a plastic pop bottle cap and I’m good to go.

I think it works a lot better with PE then any other CA I’ve tried.

Cheers
Thom

I use both the Zap and Hott stuff. The Zap I have has a much faster cure time than the hott stuff glue does. It also has much stronger fumes than the Hott stuff. All that being said, I like them both and use them for different things.

Checked at the LHS today & it’s in the other, old style, bottle. I wonder if this was a special packaging deal for Michaels ?

If it will prevent the CA from drying out and setting up in the bottle, I’m all for it.

one problem i have with my zap is that even after purging the nozzle before capping tightly is that it still cakes on the nozzle. i can pick out the cooey half-hardened bits with a thumbtack, but its annoying. does the new bottle adress this, or am i doing something wrong ?

So far I have had no problems with glue drying and caking on the tip of this newer bottle. The cap twists on so the nozzle stays very clean.

Cheers
