New twist on an old theme...

[:|]

Gotta be a photochop.

Well, it is a Leopard, after all. What on Earth is going on there. That’s strange even for me.

Unless they’re doing a rollover test or something? It looks similar to what they do with cars… though why they’d use a perfectly good Leo is beyond me.

Kevin…have you been playing on the computer again?? [*-)]

Nice…different , yet nice

Rounds Complete!!

It is to get radar cross reference sections on a test range. I allowed MIT to do this to a few of my vehicles. Part of the high tech airborne radar systems (think JSTARS for ground vehicles). The tech heads get a baseline radar cross reference so they know what the vehicle should look like on the ground when viewed in the radar from the air.

wow thats all i got to say[whstl].

Ron

I knew that there was some sort of legitimacy to this photo… thanks for bringing it forward Rob.

Ah! That explains it. Thanks much for the info Rob!

You may recall his name, he was an Israeli native and superb modeler who worked up in the Lowell area. He didn’t have a test platform, but instead used those scissor lifts to rise above the tank, M88, HEMTT, etc. to get his baseline readings.

If “TC” are his initials, he’s Lebanese, an excellent modeler and was doing some sort stuff like that out of ULowell (now part of UMASS). Another guy that was a regular and much before your time also did some scale modeling for imagery at MIT/Lincoln Labs and has long since passed away but was a huge presence with Patriot Chapter.

Doing ok with your ‘short timer’ status?

That’s it, Talal Chouman.

Yes, picked up my clearing papers today. Have 10 days to clear post, well, nine now. CIF tomorrow along with my SBP election briefing.

I tend to play the killjoy on these types of posts. Everyone wants to come up with a witty or quirky response but a factual answer often ends the fun. I normally hold off a bit until a few get their answers in.

Ya, you’re a real bummer… NOT!

You need to get on a few of the, “Manny Threads” then. [:P] Ah, I’d rather have the facts than a 130 page thread on “How to convince your government to catapult a 3.5 million dollar tank.” [proplr]

If it isn’t in the armor forum, I normally won’t respond.
