Howdy!! Have fun!! That’s the main thing. You’re probably a wingy thing guy(so am I just not as much as armor) I would say do your research and decide BEFORE you start a build what you want to accomplish. Are you modeling a basic vechicle, are you going for every nut and bolt?Is weathering in the build? I think that having a specific goal for the outcome of the kit makes it easier and more satisfying. Also, just starting out I can’t stress enough ,especially weathering and scratching, practice on some scrap first. I keep an old hull from a junk kit just for this reason. Better to find out on a trsh kit than to turn a hard worked project into trash!!![:D]

welcome to the dark side my brother! (piece of advice, change the name[:D][;)])

my advice, start with something cheap, and practice your skills on it. try some new techniques out first on that model and maybe one other cheap one. then progress on to bigger and more detailed prjects. its all about learning man

Glad to have you Nick. In addition to the above coments, I stress patience. Take your time. Sometimes we get a bit frustrated and rush a build to get it out of the way or on the shelf. Study your resources. For instance a tank in Africa wouldn’t have rust all over the tracks. Above all have fun and consider it a learning curve of sorts. Each build you make will constantly improve on the techniques you pick up or learn along the way.

[#ditto] Welcome to the dirty side modeling. I echo everything everyone else has told you, but above all enjoy yourself.

“Airborne! All the way, Sir!”

Lets see. Start of with cheaper kits so that you can practisse your skill without emptying your wallet everytime. Dont be afraid to ask questions on here as the only stupid question is a question that doesnt get asked…
