Hi all!, I am just signing up to the forum part of the website here. I have been a subscriber to the magazine for years, and with the site for a couple…I don’t know why I never created a user acct? I once had a question of mine published in the magazine??? whoo hoo claim to fame!! haha
I thought that this would be a great tool for me in that my skills are above average, but I would definately like to improve them, and I would love to be able to hear from others, their opinion’s, knowledge on a subject and their suggestion’s in regards to building in general. I have read thru a lot of these forums and I really like how they are very informative, and yet very laid back and friendly!
I work, currently, exclusively in WW II land 1/48 aircraft and 1/35 armor…and have a modest start on a good “stack” of models that “need” to get done!! haha I am preparing to build my first diorama. It is going to be a smaller one done in 1/35 scale and I plan to have it set in the Battle of France circa 1940. I haven’t fianlized all the details but I know I plan on having a Sd.kfz. 251 in it. …?
Which brings me to my first official “Forum question” if anyone can help?? I have looked pretty good for a definate answer, but didn’t see anything official…Does anyone know if the Sd.kfz. 251 Ausf. C was in service with the Wermacht by the Battle of France?? Let alone a 251/10 version?? I read somewhere that the “C” version came out in middle 1940…but no definate answer whether or not it served in France??? Reason being I don’t have a kit of an “A” or “B” Ausf.

I guess I was a bit to quick in writing that I was a bit too informal?? My name Is Jeff and I am 38 years old. I have been modeling on and off since I was in 5th grade with a big gap during High School/college…though I did build a F-105 Thundercheif in my Dorm Room once…paint and all! Haha Got back into it about 10years ago and model when I can…with all my other Hobby interests!! I look forward to enjoying the forum!!

As for your Sd.Kfz question: Don’t know the answer myself, but have you asked in the Armor forum (I haven’t been there myself in few days, sorry)? There are some pretty knowledgeable members there, like wbill76, who can probably answer that question.

Hi, and welcome to the forum. The 251 Ausf C was introduced in Mid 40, so a few may have served in France, but i would say its unlikely. I believe zveda do a /10 Ausf B, though i am not sure how accurate it is as there is an issue with the interiour of their standard Ausf B.
