Hello all, well this is my first post to the forum. Ive been modeling aircraft for years, but never found this site until just recently. I do have some questions… im having trouble finding a good site to order my materials through. Im stationed in Alaska… and well we dont have a hobby store there haha… so you know where im coming from. Also… where can i find a site or something that says what materials i would need for certain kits… that way i dont have to order them after i buy the kit? Thanks ahead of time!
John
awesome… thanks for the help. Ill check that site out.
rollmodels.com, squadron/signal.com are a few I can think of. Squadron has a gigantic catolog that includes kits, aftermarket accessories, materials(plastics), tools, books, decals…, and the list goes on. Roll Models is the same I believe. I do know that Roll Models stocks a HUGE selection of aircraft engines.
Welcome to the sight.
And what do you build?
[#welcome] to our world John[:D] You’ll find this is a good place to ask questions as there’s a good group of folks here. If ya haven’t noticed, there are different forums here at FSM. Aircraft, Ships, etc. You’ll find many helpful things & don’t hesitate to ask questions[;)]
Welcome John…looking forward to seeing your work.

well if your surfing the web try www.greatmodels.com they have an awsome selection of kits & supplies and they also have reviews for the kits if needed, and another great site is www.modelingmadness.com they have reviews of kits and what, where, and how to make a certian kit look great,
Good Luck, have fun and welcome to the forum
[#welcome] to the forums.
I usually order everything that I need from either greatmodels.com or squadron.com.
Welcome to the forum. You might want to also look at http://www.hyperscale.com and talk to the Wookie – I think he is modeling in your neck of the woods.
Add to that list http://www.internethobbies.com
If you are into WW2 aircraft check the reviews at my site, I often list the availible accessory kits for any given model.
Hey TexanSoldier, where are you stationed? I live in Anchorage and if you get into town we have a Hobbycraft in the Dimond Center and there’s the Anchorage House of Hobbies behind REI on Bensen and Spenard. If I can’t find what I need there I usually go with Squadron.com since they don’t charge extra for shipping to Alaska, it really bugs me when companies do that. The USPS doesn’t charge extra! I hope you’re enjoying our state and good luck with the modeling supplies!
[#ditto] He’s in our modeling club and MUCH more knowledgeable than me!
LoL… a frozen furrball huh?![:-,][(-D] That explains it[;)]
