Hi everybody! [swg] I’ve been reading the forum the last few days and have picked up alot of great tips. I’m ready to build my first model in 25 years and was thinking about the Tamiya P-47 Bubbletop. Does anyone have any info on this beast? Thanks for the help.

Hmm a Tamiya bubbletop and it’s your first in 25 years . I’ve built quite a few Thunderbolts from the bubbletops to the razorbacks , and if I can lend a hand I’ll be more than happy to , although I’m more into Sci-Fi now I still enjoy the AC’s .
Again Welcome to the FUNNY FARM .

You know come to think about it I still have a vintage P-47 from Revell that I’m super detailing …, [|(] someday I’ll get back to it !!!
Welcome to FSM, magic. Glad to have you here. The Tamiya Bubbletop? Just shake the box and take out the finished product! It’s a great build and is the best P-47 kit in any scale out there right now.
Welcome to the forum, magic. I was also away for 25 years, and a lot of things have changed. You may want to consider building an olive drab over neutral gray Thunderbolt to “re-wet” your feet. The natural metal finish will show every seam & scratch on the surface. Just something to consider. There is a lot of info on metallic finishes (NMF) in the techniques & painting pages, worth reading.
Have fun & enjoy the site !
Welcome to FSM good luck on first build can’t wait to see some pics
Thanks for the welcome and info guys!
Welcome back, magic. What do you want to know about bubble tops?
Welcome to FSM and back to modeling, Magic. Try the Aircraft Section for some info. Enjoy![8D]

Multimedia, I was wondering if people thought it was a good kit. Thanks. BTW, I’m from Elkhart, IN originally. Are you anywhere near there?
