New(?) Tamiya releases...

http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/newkitnews/tamiya.htm

So they have made all these kits over 20 years ago… the Semovente, M13/40, SdKfz 232, and Jagdtiger. Are these new molds or just reissues with maybe new figures?

But I do like the rebox of ICMs Soviet Afghan war figures.

[:)]

I’ve read that the JT is all new molds.

…Tony…

That makes sense since they did redo their King Tiger. I hope the other three are as well! More North Africa stuff!

I’d welcome a new M13/40, one with link-and-lengths. The Jagdtiger must be the Porsche suspension, since it said early JT.

WOW!!!

A new Jagdtiger from Tamiya?!?!

JOY!!![:P][:D]

Looks to be Henschel (we got some promo info from Tamiya the other day at HLJ). Early/late has to do with AA machine gun placement, doesn’t it? And didn’t the Porsche suspension actually come later? I’m just shootin’ from the hip here…!

Good hearing from you again Brian. Wondered where you’ve been.

The first 6-10 had the Porsche suspension along with zimmerit. I think a few did not have zim. I believe the Late had the MG on the engine deck. Not too many JT’s overall produced. Kykeon would certainly be able to get more accurate production numbers.

Originally called the Jagdpanzer VI then later the Jagdtiger only 80 were built out of the 150 ordered, 11 or so were with the Porsche suspension.

What a monster of a tank and I do hope that Tamiya does make it with the zimm already on it too!

Howdy, Eric! I’m still around, and check the forums pretty much every day. Just not posting as much as I used to. I see that I’m still listed as third in the list of all-time gabbers, though!

OK, so the Porsche sus was first. Not sure why I thought it actually was later than the Henschel…now I’m straight!

Here’s the scoop on the four “new” Tamiya releases:

The Semovente and M13/40 are the old kits with new link-and-length tracks and some other newly-tooled detail parts added.

The 232 is the old kit with some new figures and some newly-tooled detail parts added.

The Jagdtiger is mostly an all-new tooling, with some unspecified parts carrying over from the previous King Tiger kits.

This info is direct from Tamiya, via a pamphlet we received at HLJ for the Tokyo Hobby Show that’ll be held next month. I’ll be going to that show, so I’ll let you know more then. We’ll have a video and photo report up on HLJ shortly after the show too, so stay tuned!

Thanks for the info Brian. Hmmm… I might pass on the italian tanks until I hear more or somone else releases a newly-tooled one. Fortunately I have the latest Dragon JT, so I’m covered there.

Any box pictures yet ?

Im no where near as interested in the tank as I am in the dude trying to get his ass to come.
