New Tamiya 1/48 Tiger I anyone buidling??

I am picking up the new 1/48 Tiger I tomorrow and I was just wondering what surprises, or any problems I can expect???

I have almost finished the kit and all I can say is im very impressed. The only thing I had problems with was the side mudguards. They only have 2 loacting pins to attach them to the hull, and being a metal hull you need superglue to fix them in place. It can be a patience tester but overall I think its a great kit.

I have the kit, but having started building (like the scores of other kits I have!).

Aside from the challenges presented by the diecast hull, all reports indicate it’s an easy build that results in a stunning little kitty!

Sorry to bring back and oldthread but if anyone wants to see a completed 1/48th tiger 1 from tamiya I have completed mine. There are pics on page 76 of the early tiger 1 GB.

I’m still waiting for my armour workshop replacement treads, and now I think I will also get the barrel and PE from Lion Roar for it. Once I get those, it’s a go.
