New ship modeler

I usually frequent the Scale auto enthusiast board because I’m an avid car and Corvette modeler but lately I have been delving into ship modeling, mostly out of intrest in maritime shipping disasters. My first scratchbuilt project was the Titanic wreck model and my next will be a Lusitania wreck model (also scratchbuilt)[alien]. I also got a 1/350 Titanic in the wings and a 1/500 U.S.S John C. Stennis carrier.

Hi corvettemike !
I’m also new to this forum … but really like it so far. If you have a look at Tools and techniques I’m sure you’ll find tips there that you could apply to car and ship modelling alike.

Hi Mike, I also like ships and am intrigued by maritime disasters also, Did you see when they brought up the Monitor’s turret??[:O] That was totally awesome!! I also saw the ones when they discovered the Monitor a few years back. I have the 1/350 Yamato on standby because I am looking for some way to make the railing w/o having to buy the PE for it, but I will if I cannot find anything suitable. Sure would like to see your Titanic, I watched Ballard discover that and watch all the underwater discoveries as much as I can. Building a Tiger 1 right now while waiting for a brain storm on the ships railing, did the Zimmerit for the first time, rather pleased with the way it turned out. I am always around if you need to discuss a subject. Have fun building and be good.

Did you see the Ticonderoga article in I forget which month but I believe it was last year sometime where the author used stretched sprue for railings? Just a thought.

Nope[:(], but it is worth a try, thankyou.[:)]
