New scratchbuild finished today

Here are a few shots. [8D]

Very cool, nicely done, but um…

… what is it? It looks a little bit like a Streak SRM turret from Mechwarrior/Battletech…

Hey there,

It’s part of a storyline I’ve been working on for a while called First Gear Territories®. There’s a fair bit more about it at my web site: http://www.firstgearterritories.com

What you see here is an original prototype for future virtual ( 3D computer) models that I use in the illustrations for the story.

Its is a weapon emplacement created as part of a defensive matrix for one of the outlying settlements.

Here’s a diagnostic for a previous installation. [:)]

verry cool!

Very nicely done! Care to give us info on what all you used to build it? I see what looks like a couple of kit parts and am curious to know.

Thanks folks!

A good deal of the material I’ve used is actually pieces from various electrical appliances such as printers, phones and other things that I’ve chopped up. In adddition, I can say for a fact that I used:

Pieces of Matchbox cars
Armour parts from 1/35 scale Tamiya kits
A cable clip from a bicycle
The trigger to a weed whacker
Half of the swivel-ball portion of an adjustable fawcet
A valve from a coffee maker
A piece of a plastic coat hanger
1/72 scale drop tanks from a Hasegawa model
Surgical tubing
The rocks are cast plaster, using commerical molds

There’s other bits too that aren’t immediately identifiable, as they were broken pieces that my friends gave me some while ago.

I don’t have a shot of this particular piece in progress, but I do have a picture of a previous one in this series before painting:

Here it is primed:

And then painted:

Kewel list of stuff! I love this sort of “found object” scratch-bashing. Excellent job! [^]

Looks like there is a wedding cake column in the mix too. Neat build by the way. [;)]
