I was just perusing the Revell site and see that old Monogram classics like the P-80 (1/48) and P-82 (1/72) are coming out again this year. Also a 1/48 He111 with a V-1. Revell of Germany is re-releasing its classic Spitfire Mk I kit in 1/32, plus I saw a release commemorating the Battle of Britain that will include a Stuka, He111, Spitfire and Hurricane in 1/72. Cool!
I guess they just reissued the B-26 which is cool but I would really like a P-80… sick of trying to chase one down. [:(] It would be nice to see the B-24J again also. The Battle of Britain kit would be nice to have!
It would be REALY nice if Hasegawa would rerelease the 1/48 scale SH-3H Sea King. Talking about having troubles tracking one down. I’ve been on the hunt for over a year.
Will be nice to have these oldies available again.
Regards, Rick
This is wonderful news, as I have wanted a P-80 for a while too!
I wonder if Revell’s 1/32 Spitfire is going to be as good as Tamiya’s.
(Or at least a lower price).
It will be a lower price, but comparison between the 2 kits would be pointless. The Revell kit is a different MK, plus it was originally tooled in the late 60’s.
My heart just skipped a beat that they’re reissuing the P/F-82! I know what I’ll be getting! I didn’t see the F-80 though in either the Revell or Revell of Germany side. I’ve already got one but I sure wouldn’t mind having another!

Nothin’ wrong with the Revell Spitfire… It needs some tweaks to bring it in-line with today’s “standards”, but builds out to great looking bird…
Here’s the panel from it…(It’s still a WIP)

Pretty good for late 60’s IMNSHO…
I am looking forward to the P-80 as well. I would be even more excited if the reissued their B-24J.
The interesting thing is the revell rerelease of the marauder comes in a monogram box.
The 1/32 Spitfire may be a combination of the Hasegawa and Revell kits, and is not bad. I used it as a basis for the prototype K5054 last year.
