Greetings again. I’m finding myself with a little more free time lately. Here’s a few progress shots of my 1:48 Tamiya Razorback, which I’ve been wanting to crack open for some time now.
As you can see, I’m not really a photo etch kind of guy. Most of the time it’s straight from the ol’ box for me. Although I used the Detail & Scale book for reference, I did take a few liberties with the red and yellow, to jazz it up just a tad.
I don’t know if you are a group build kind of guy, but there is a p-47 gb going on right now. If you are interested, I’m sure they’d (we’d) be glad to have you join…
Nice work so far, I’m building the same kit myself and having a great time with it. Feel free to join the P-47 group build, you would be very welcome. Keep us posted with your progress, Darren.
I’ve been thinking a great deal about this question. I must have researched about every aftermarket decal sheet available. Seems whenever I find a scheme I really like, it’s for a “C” version without wing pylons, rather that my “D” version, which I intend to build fully loaded. Unless I find something more interesting, I suspect it will either be Little Chief or Spirit of Atlantic City, which are of course both included with the kit.
I built this kit about six months ago. It is a awesome kit! The fit of all of the parts was perfect. I build the version with the indian head on the cowl the decals were great. It looks awesome. The only filling I did was the wing root. Good luck with the rest of the build.
